Best Ways To Spend Spring In Denver

There is no doubt that Denver is one of the most beautiful cities, especially over Spring and Summer. Between the colorful trees and the mountain views, there really is just nothing like it. This city definitely does not lack on fun things to do, whether it be going to a baseball game or spending your day in the Denver Art Museum. Below are some of our favorite activities to do during this time of year along with what INFINITI we love to take to these fun places!

Denver Botanic Gardens Related image

With all of the beautiful trees and flowers starting to blossom, this is the perfect place to spend a gorgeous Spring day. Located in the Capitol Hill District in Denver, the Denver Botanic Gardens is a 24-acre garden filled with exquisite plants from the Rocky Mountain Region and similar regions throughout the world. Their mission is to inspire the public by connecting people to the environment and their past, present, and future relationships with plants in the Rocky Mountain Region. The Denver Botanic Gardens have a total of seven different living collections, including two natural history collections, a library, and art collections. Although they are a part of Denver Free Days, where they have select days you can get in for free, tickets are quite affordable. Members are free, and it's $12.50 for Adults, $9.50 for Seniors (65+), $9.50 for Military & Veterans (with ID), $9.00 for Students (with ID), $9 for Children 3-15, and Children 2 and under are free. Similar to the Rockies stadium, the Botanic Gardens are right in the city, so we suggest driving a 2019 Q60 Coupe, to really make sure you fit in those tight spots. The Denver Botanic Gardens is one of the most beautiful spots in town and is definitely a must-see. All of the natural beauty is breathtaking and definitely worth seeing in person!

Colorado Rockies Games Image result for coors field

As you may know, the Colorado Rockies are one of our luxury partners, and here at INFINITI OF DENVER we love a good baseball game! Although the Rockies have only been playing since 1993, they have left a huge stamp in the city of Denver. The experience you get at a Rockies game is unlike any other. With the delicious food & drinks, the crazed fans, and the mountain and city skyline views, you will have the time of your life. Opening day is typically in the beginning of April with the season running all the way until the end of September, and the average regular season tickets range from $5 to $200. While you're at the legendary Coors field, you can check out the on-site breweries and restaurants, or spend your evening on the rooftop overlooking the mountains and the city skyline. Coors Field also offers behind-the-scenes tours of the entire stadium with the option of doing a private tour, Monday through Saturday. Since parking here is a little tight with it being right in the middle of the city, we suggest taking a 2019 Q50. Whether it be with family or friends, Rockies games are tons of fun to go to and they really show what Colorado is all about!

Let's go Rox!

Red Rocks ConcertsRelated image

Red Rocks Amphitheater is without a doubt one of the most, if not the most breathtaking concert venue in the world. Getting its start as a music venue in the early 1900's, Red Rocks has been the perfect place to spend a Spring or Summer Colorado night listening to great music. Located in Morrison about 10 miles west of Denver, this rock structured open-air venue has hosted thousands of popular Artists including The Beatles, Sting, U2, and many more. On top of being a beautiful place to go watch some of your favorite performers, Red Rocks Amphitheater is actually a National Historic Landmark and also a public park. Along with incredible concerts, you also have the option to embark on one of their guided tours, bike around the Red Rocks, or shop and dine. Since you'll be taking a ride into the mountains and through some winding roads, we suggest taking a 2019 QX80 up there. I mean, those huge wheels can practically handle anything! Red Rocks Park & Amphitheater is definitely a sight to see and a fantastic place to watch a concert!

Plan a Romantic Valentine’s at One of These Denver Area Fine Dining Restaurants

Plan a Romantic Valentine's at One of These Denver Area Fine Dining RestaurantsCooking times are a bit different in the Mile High City thanks to the altitude, but that does nothing to slow down the professional chefs who operate the many fine-dining restaurants throughout Denver, Colorado. That's good news for Colorado lovebirds, because eating at a fancy restaurant is one of the classic ways to spend time with your significant other on Valentine's Day. If you live in the area, consider making a reservation at one of the following establishments.

Rioja

Rioja takes its name from a region in Spain, and it serves a variety of fine Mediterranean meals with plenty of wines to match them. Rioja is open for lunch and dinner, and during both times, they serve hand-made pasta in appetizer or entree amounts plus main dishes that use chicken, spiced, lamb, fish, or vegetarian options. You could also choose a tasting menu and share a little of everything with your date. You should also consider getting one of Rioja's unique cocktails. The restaurant is on Larimer Street between 14th and 15th Street.

Work and Class

If you prefer your fine food in a less formal setting, you can head north on Larimer Street to Work and Class, a place that combines Southern American and Latin American foods with a simple dining room that still comes with cloth napkins. The menu changes based on what seasonal ingredients are available, but they include options like Cajun-fried catfish, roasted goat, dirty rice, and jalapeno cornbread. Work and Class also has a variety of wines, beers, and liquors, not to mention a few house cocktails.

Acorn

Head up North Broadway until it becomes Brighton Boulevard and you'll spot Acorn on your right. Acorn has a very simple, industrial design that captures the feel of the old foundry that once filled the building. Acorn takes its name from the oak-fired grill and oven at the heart of the restaurant's kitchen, and just about every American-style menu option goes through the oak grill at some point. The menu is seasonal and always changing, and along with the food they offer high-booze, low-booze, and virgin cocktails.

Mercantile Dining and Provision

The uniquely named Mercantile Dining and Provision is both a fine-dining restaurant and a market where you can buy the house-made ingredients used in the restaurant's meals. Located in the Denver Union Station, Mercantile offers small plates, large plates, and family plates that consist of classic American comfort foods taken to the next level by a creative professional chef. If you're interested in how the food is made, you can sit in one of the seats with a good view of the open kitchen and watch the staff at work.

An expensive dinner is a classic way to spend your Valentine's Day, and the restaurants above are all good choices that offer different moods for different couples. They're also just a sample of the fine-dining establishments in Denver, so if all of them are booked solid on Valentine's Day, you'll have plenty of other good options to choose from.

Centrally located, these museums are within close proximity of one another, enabling you to explore them on foot or with just a few short drives. To get some culture, head to one of these world-class institutions.

Denver Art Museum

With over 70,000 works from North America and across the world, the critically acclaimed Denver Art Museum is the largest of its kind between Chicago and the West Coast. Works from Georgia O'Keeffe, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Henri Duchamp highlight the more popular works at the museum. However, the museum's American Indian art is among the most extensive in the world, giving visitors a glance into the history and culture of the area's oldest inhabitants.

Located at 100 W. 14th Avenue Parkway, the Denver Art Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. Tickets for Colorado residents are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Out-of-state visitors pay $13 for adult admission and $10 for senior and student tickets.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

Covering 716,000 square feet and housing over 1 million objects and artifacts, the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is the largest museum in the city. Geared to entertain both adults and kids, the museum has 10 permanent exhibits as well as a rotation of traveling exhibitions. The Discovery Zone helps children learn about science, ecology, and nature with a variety of hands-on exhibits, while the Prehistoric Journey features life-size skeletons of dinosaurs.

The on-site planetarium is another awesome amenity, giving visitors a chance to gaze at the stars, planets, nebulas, and constellations visible from Colorado. An IMAX theater adds another level of entertainment, showing both educational and Hollywood blockbusters throughout the year.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is located at 2001 Colorado Blvd. at the eastern end of City Park. Admission is $16.95 for adults (19-64), $13.95 for seniors (65+), and $11.95 for juniors (3-18). Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Museum of Contemporary Art Denver

Opened in 1996, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Denver is the city's first museum dedicated entirely to modern art. With amazing architecture, a rotating series of events, and a rooftop cafe, it's a great spot to visit, even if you aren't into contemporary art. What makes this museum even more unusual is that it has no permanent exhibitions. Instead, it has rotating exhibits that last two to three months, meaning your experience is different each time you visit.

You'll find MCA Denver at 1485 Delagny St. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $8 for adults (19-64), $5 for seniors (65+), and free for children 18 and under. Don't miss out on penny entrance days for Colorado residents on the first of each month.

From one of the world's largest collections of American Indian art to giant dinosaur skeletons, Denver's museums are a surprising breath of fresh air in the Mile High City.
